Волонтеры всех стран, объединяйтесь! (Foreign volunteers will go to Sochi in 2014)

Delegation from the International Students Organization AISEC visited Volunteer Center of Omsk State Transport University on the 18^th of February. Reason for the meeting was the presentation of the center about training volunteers in Omsk.

Volunteering helps to meet new people. Omsk State Transport University was visited by foreign students from Brazil, China, Slovenia and Venezuela.

“Olympics in Sochi in 2014 is a very important event for Russia and we are very pleased that you all came here today” – by these words the head of the volunteer center Alexander Pflyuk welcomed all the students.

Aleksei Suturin conducted the presentation. Apart from him some of the volunteers had an opportunity to meet with foreign students.  As we know, knowledge of English is a major require for volunteers. Alexei told foreign visitors about the history of the Olympic Games, the winter sports, the development of voluntary movement, as well as about what qualities should have a volunteer.

After his words, the representative of Brazil, Edward Maria Kamal immediately decided to sign up. She wasn’t the only one.

After the presentation foreign students asked several questions about Sochi, the functions of the volunteers, the selection criteria. The volunteers demonstrated the stages of registration to everyone.Foreign students are not afraid of the distance that they have to overcome. "We hope to see you all at the later stages of selection", said the volunteers in one voice.
